Holidays Holidays Holidays

Yay!

It’s the holidays! I wish it wasn’t raining though! I hate being stuck inside and eventually I have to admit you do get bored watching tv and reading books and drawing and stuff like that but oh well, I’m going to stay on Mt. Ruapehu next week and we’re going to go skiing. So… Technically it’s probably going to be worse weather up there (snow) but at least we can still go outside when it’s snowing! Anyway we might go to the movies one day this week or Kelly Tarltons something like that any way!

Bye 4 now!

I’m bringing 2 things! :)

Book Review

I read a book recently and it’s really good and I think you all should read it so I’m going to write a book review to make you want to read it!

Title: The name of this book is secret. (I’m serious thats what it’s called!)

Author: Pseudonymous Bosch

Blurb: This is the story of a secret

A secret so big and dangerous thats even the story it self is a secret. (Well not anymore thanks to me!) To find out what it is, you have to risk everything…

Self-described survivalist Cass sees potential disaster everywhere so no one believes her when a class mate is kidnapped by the dazzling but dangerous Dr L and Ms Mauvais. No one except super talkative misfit Max- Ernest. Cass and Max-Ernest team up to solve the mystery of the magicians notebook and the symphony of smells, discover a secret to the lost ages, and rescue their classmate before his brain is sucked out through a straw. Along the way they must solve puzzles and word games and face incredible danger.

Introduction of the book:

WARNING DO NOT READ BEYOND THIS PAGE!

Good. Now I can trust you. You’re curious. You’re brave. And you’re not afraid to lead a life of crime. But lets get soomething straight: if, despite my warning, you insist on reading my book, you can’t hold me responsible for the consequences. And, make no bones about it, this is a very dangerous book. No it won’t blow up in your face. Or bite your head off. Or tear you limb from limb. It probably won’t injure you at all. Unless somebody throws it at you, which is a possibility that should never be discounted. Generally speaking, books don’t cause much harm. Except when you read them that is. Then they cause all kinds of problems. Books can, for example, give you ideas. I don’t know if you’ve ever had an idea before, but, if you have, you know how much trouble an idea can gte into you. Books can also provoke emotions. And emotions sometime are even more troublesome than ideas. Emotions have led people people to do all sorts of things they later regret - like oh, throwing a book at someone else. But the main reason this book is so dangerous s that it concerns a secret a BIG secret. It’s funny the way secrets work. I f you don’t know about a secret, it doesn’t bother you. You go abou your business without a care in the world. La la la you sing. Everythings fine and dandy. (Maybe you don’t actually sing La la la but you know what I mean.) But as soon as you here about the secret, it starts to nag at you. What is tthis secret? ypou wonder. Why am I not supposed to know about it? Why is it so important? Suddenly you’re dying to know what the secret is.You beg. You plead. You threaten. You cajole. You promise never to tell anyone else. You try anything and everything. You dig into the secret keepers belongings. You pull his or her own hair. And when that doesn’t work, you pull your own. Not knowing a secret is just about the worst thing in the world. No I can think of one thing worse.

Knowing a secret.

Lesley can we read this book as a class when we’ve finished Georges Secret Key to the Universe?

Wave Pools

Yesterday afternoon I went to the wave pools with Mia. It was so fun. They didn’t turn the waves on though.

We standing under the buckets that tipped over on you and we kept diving for them when another bucket was going to tip!

We went in the bit that goes round in a loop and there is this really big bubbly bit in it and if you lie on it you float!

Today

Today at maths we made polyhedrons with some paper and card. It was really fun because we got to decorate them first. My one was a disaster!! At SSR we were allowed to carry on with our polyhedrons so I just decorated mine more. We did writing and we were doing our plans for our story’s. My plan was 3 pages long!!! At lunch I had sewing and we started making our soft toys. Mine is pink and green and it is called Flip! After lunch I had to do something secret and I would tell you but a certain someone might be looking at this! We painted the art boards black and made more polyhedrons. Tomorrow is the flight to Jupiter and we get to wear pajamas and we get to bring a soft toy. We get to watch Nims Island as well. We’re going to have pilots, flight attendants and customs officers. Alsooooo 3 lucky people get to travel 1st class on the couch!

This weekend

Hi Everyone

On Friday I stayed at Molly’s house for the night but in the middle of the night I was sick. Apart from that it was really fun. We made a dress out of her paper fashions and we wrote a song.

On Saturday I just watched T.V. but I started to feel better towards the evening. We got movies out and I got Legally Blonde and Legally Blonde 2. I like the first one better though.

On Sunday we went to St. Lukes

Today

This morning at maths we did some work on shapes and stuff. We used paper and scissors to refresh ourselves on symmetry. We also used blutack and toothpicks to make some 3-d shapes. After lunch we had a mystery reader come into our class.
